V
olunteer tutors are the true heart of Literacy Chicago. In most cases, tutors meet with students one-on-one (although we do recruit classroom tutors from time to time), at least once a week for a minimum of nine months. Tutors come from all walks of life, all motivated by a desire to help adults learn and live better lives. Signing up is simple: fill out the application form found on this page and send it to us along with the $50 registration and materials fee. We will contact you directly to confirm your enrollment and answer any questions. Training takes place over two consecutive Saturdays between 9AM and 3PM (please consult the training session calendar and indicate on your application which session you would like to attend), with sessions generally taking place each month.
