A Volunteer Board is currently forming at Literacy Chicago, and we are requesting nominations for officers. We urge all Volunteers to weigh in with recommendations or to share interests in candidacy. Please email us at: Volunteering@literacychicago.org

Literacy Chicago is very pleased to initiate new programs that will both honor and assist our corps of volunteer tutors. Some new things to watch for:

a Volunteer Council to help organize a semi-autonomous body of tutors
activities including continuing education workshops
information and experience sharing
fundraising activities to support Literacy Chicago
data capturing and peer organization outreach
Volunteer representation with Literacy Chicago's administration
advocacy for both Volunteer and student needs
