Join us for our annual gala The Magic of Literacy on June 1, 2023 at the historical Glessner House in Chicago's South Loop.
Arrive between 5:30 and 6:15 pm to start the gala with a guided tour of the beautiful, glided-age home. The last tour departs at 6:15.
Throughout the evening, you will be spellbound with Sean Masterson's close-up live magic while enjoying drinks and delicious appetizers. You could even be part of the act if selected to participate during Sean's amazing magical show!
Become inspired by personal stories from the winners of the 2023 Secretary of State Award. Each year only ten volunteers and ten students in Illlinois receive this prestigious award.

Step back in time and experience the beauty of Chicago's architectural history at the Magic of Literacy, Literacy Chicago’s annual gala on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at the Glessner House (1800 S Prairie Ave, Chicago IL, 60616).
This iconic National Historic Landmark, designed by legendary American architect Henry Hobson Richardson in 1887, is a masterpiece which redefined domestic architecture and has been an inspiration to architects such as Louis Sullivan, Mies van der Rohe, and Frank Lloyd Wright. We are offering complimentary tours of the house at the beginning of the event! (between 5:30 and 6:15). |
