Hiring a Digital Literacy Instructor
Position Summary: We are looking for an experienced Digital Literacy teacher to join our team. The Digital Literacy Program Instructor will be responsible for planning and implementing lessons for a Digital Literacy Program. The program is 10 weeks long, twice per week, two hours per day, and is aimed at teaching basic digital literacy skills (Google Drive sheets, slides, forms, sheets, docs, etc.) to adults. Duties include delivering group instruction, providing one-on-one support during the session, and promoting participant goal accomplishments.
This is an hourly temporary position from April 2024 to June 2024, with the possibility of an extension. Hours for this position are mostly 10 AM to 12 AM on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and prep and occasional team meetings at other times as needed.
Responsibilities
Payment for this role is commensurable with experience and at least $25 per hour.

Responsibilities
- Create lesson plans and modify them accordingly throughout the year.
- Do pre and post-assessments and report them to Literacy Chicago.
- Create lesson plans.
- Utilize Northstar Digital Literacy and other curriculum resources.
- Integrate competencies, goals, and objectives into lesson plans.
- Develop incentives to keep participants in class.
- Work with program coordinators to ensure initiatives are being met.
- Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
- Prepare and distribute required reports.
- Observe and evaluate student's performance.
- Previous experience as a Digital Literacy instructor or similar role
- Agreement to become certified in the Northstar Digital Literacy program
- Great organizational, oral, and communication skills
- Ability to handle classroom
- Degree in Education, Curriculum design or related field
- Experience working for a Community-Based Organization
- Minimum of 5 years teaching experience
