Math Instructor

Position Summary
Instruction will be teaching math skills to adults with a focus on fractions, decimal conversions, Graphs and analyzation of statistical problems.  Curriculum workbook will be provided to ensure all necessary math skills are covered.
Student math levels range from 6 to 10 grade.   Students are enrolled in a carpentry trade course and are needing additional math support.
Responsibilities
  • Create daily lesson plans and provide plans as requested.
  • Employ teaching methodology that reflects best practices, addresses diverse needs and learning styles as well as uses integrated curriculum.
  • Track individual student progress through pre and post tests, quizzes,authentic assessment methods and homework.
  • Submit monthly reports.
  • Track attendance.
  • Attend workshops for professional development related to classroom and student needs.
Minimum Qualifications
  • BA in Adult Education, Teaching or Related Field
  • Experience teaching Mat at GED level.
  • Able to work with diverse populations.
  • Highly motivated, energetic and dynamic
  • Student focused
  • Excellent oral and communication skills
Salary: based on experience
Schedule: Classes will be held twice a week on Mondays and Wednesdays from 1pm to 3pm, or 2pm to 4pm
