Volunteer as a Tutor
Most people who volunteer with us become tutors for either our ESL and Citizenship students or help native speaking adults with their reading and comprehension skills. We are also looking for people to tutor Digital Literacy and computer skills.
We expect our tutors to meet with their students for at least an hour once or twice a week and for a minimum of 6 to 9 months. Tutors meet with their students at the Literacenter or any agreed upon public place. By volunteering with Literacy Chicago you will be helping someone learn to improve their skills and you will also find that it is a very rewarding and enriching activity. Our students are extremely grateful to their volunteer tutors. |
